Biography: Revd. Michael Bolt.
I was born in England to a family that were not church attendees. Therefore my first experience of Christianity came not in a Church but at school- because I grew up in an era when the Church of England's hymnal still retained a prominent place at morning assembly in the public schools and religious education was part of the core curriculum.
My education post high school has been from the following:
University of Wales, Aberystwyth, United Kingdom.
Pacific Lutheran Seminary, California.
Saint Andrew's Theological College & Seminary, North Carolina.
Church offices I have held are as follows:
Lay reader in the Methodist Church (Wales & USA).
Lay reader in the Orthodox Anglican Church, North Carolina.
Lay reader in the United Episcopal Church of North America from where I also became ordained Deacon, then Priest.
I am a member of the order of St Stephen the Protomartyr, which has an interdenominational non-cloistered Augustinian religious charter.
My spouse, Sherry is from the USA and after several years of marriage and the birth of a daughter, Ceri (in Wales) we came from Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire to live in the Carolinas in 1985.
I have been employed by the water quality department of the Office of Environment & Natural Resources of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians for fourteen years. Prior employment was at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC.
My hobbies are reading, beekeeping and gardening. We have several pets.
We reside in a rustic cabin near Whittier, NC
I was installed as Priest In Charge at St. Peters Anglican Church (APA) Waynesville on 12/8/2013.
